You can spawn items in creative mode but you are definitely unable to disable hunger or thirst. I could spawn items but I could not disable hunger/thirst. To my knowledge this is all thats available on the console. The other problem that you face is getting attacked. It also looks like food and water are going down in this mode. It has water and food that can be placed in your inventory.
Press X, on the Xbox, to bring up the inventory. Do you know how I can enable that? Is it the same feature that allows you to spawn any item in the game? If so this doesn't turn off hunger or thirst.
